MYTHICAL PROPERTIES

In Scottish folklore, the kelpie is a dangerous shape-shifter that appears to its victims on land as a horse before luring them to their watery graves. But Scotland wasn’t the only place haunted by the beasts. According to Etruscan, Phoenician, Roman and Greek mythology, the hippocampus (or hippocamp) tormented sea farers as well. Kelpies have been rethought and redesigned throughout tales, sometimes with hooves, sometimes as humanoids, sometimes with a Medusa-like mane of serpents. Sometimes they’re scary and sacrificial harbingers, and sometimes they’re protectors of Scottish youth. Whichever story strikes your fancy, it’s clear that the legend has persisted because of its ability to shape-shift and mold to its teller and its listeners, and reinvent itself over time.

Absolutely love this hat. I have a big head (7 3/4 fitted, 63cm helmet) and am always striking out with performance hat brands. Picked this up a couple weeks ago and was so stoked and relieved that it actually fits. That is a rarity! Great stitching, crushable, and a nice change of pace from my usual green, black, and brown color scheme. Very happy to have found Folklord, I’m a fan. I’m really hard on kit, so durability is yet to be determined, but all signs are good so far. Love the antler detail on the brim, too. Keep up the good work!

The second I saw this hat I knew I had to have it!!! Never seen such a beautiful baby pink mesh hat!As a girl with a buzz cut, I have to wear the hat at its tightest setting but worth it. Super comfortable and so unique

A shirt woven from warm butter

Look, this shirt is what you need in the bitter cold of this world. In the rare days that Florida has been cold, this shirt has been what I have needed.

The fit of this shirt is true to size and is the right “tightness” to give warmth without restricting movement. It’s long enough to tuck in if you’re into that kind of thing. I would recommend wearing shorts or pants with this as it’s not long enough to cover your naughty bits. Public indecency will still get you arrested.

The fabric is wonderfully soft. Good luck getting chafed nipples with this bad boy. It’s also a good weight for battling the cold but certainly isn’t heavy.

It’s pretty to look at and trust me, everyone will be looking at you. You’ll be the most interesting person in the brewery, library, political march, breast cancer awareness half marathon, or wilderness.
