This hat’s as American as apple pie and the guy who made it possible: the man, the myth, the legend, Johnny Appleseed himself. While Johnny was said to have worn a metal pot as a hat, we thought going the fabric route would make things more comfortable. Mr. Appleseed (known in reality as John Chapman) was said have helped 19th-century pioneers on their Westward journey by supplying apple nursery stock and selling seeds to settlers. The legend only grew from there.
